What MangoDime doesn't model (yet)

We'd rather you know. As of September 2026, here's a plain list of what the simulation does not model.

This list changes with every release — check back after an update if you're relying on something not covered above.

What this doesn't model

  • Annuities — no purchase or payout logic.
  • A true tax-optimizing withdrawal engine — Compare ranks four named orders; it doesn't fill brackets.
  • Estate or inheritance tax — only a simple legacy figure.
  • Progressive state tax — each state's top rate is applied flat, which overstates state tax for most people.
  • Spousal Social Security benefits — each spouse's benefit is independent; the survivor step-up is simplified.
  • Selling or downsizing a home, or pooling rental income across properties.
  • 529 state tax deductions inside the simulation (shown for information only).
  • Long-term care in depth — a fixed cost window with an insurance offset; no probability of needing care.
  • College costs rising faster than inflation — costs are flat in today's dollars.
  • Future federal bracket changes — 2025 brackets throughout.
  • Multiple saved plans or side-by-side scenarios.
  • A joint retirement-age solver for couples — the solver sweeps the primary's age only.
  • Family ACA pricing — premiums are summed per spouse against a national-average benchmark.
  • The exact IRS 72(t) calculation — an approximate, labeled formula.
  • IRMAA's two-year lookback — uses same-year income.
