Terms of Service

These are the terms for using MangoDime, run by Northstar Digital LLC in Laguna Beach, California. They're written to be read. If you use MangoDime, you're agreeing to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

1. What MangoDime is

MangoDime is planning software. It estimates what your savings could produce in retirement and shows how different choices compare, using the numbers you enter and simulations built from historical market data.

It is not investment, tax, or legal advice. We don't know your full situation, we don't recommend investments or products, and nothing on the site is a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, convert, or claim anything. The results are estimates, not predictions or guarantees, and past market returns don't tell you what future returns will be. For decisions, talk to a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.

We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, tax preparer, or law firm.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. MangoDime is built around U.S. tax and Social Security rules; if you live elsewhere, the results may not apply to you.

3. Your account

You sign in with a one-time email link or Google. There's no password. You're responsible for keeping your email account secure and for what happens under your MangoDime account. Tell us at contactus@mangodime.com if you think someone else has used it.

One account per person. A Plus subscription includes a partner seat — a second login for one other adult in your household — and that's the only sharing allowed.

4. Your data

What we collect and what we do with it is in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. In short: the numbers you enter stay yours; we use them to calculate your results and to decide which reminders to send you; we don't sell them or share them for advertising; you can delete everything from the Account page.

The plan you build is yours. If you cancel Plus, you keep your plan and your free results.

5. Free and Plus

The free tier is free and doesn't require payment details. Plus is a paid subscription. What each includes is described on the site at the time you buy, and we can change what's in each tier over time; if we remove something material from Plus during a period you've paid for, we'll tell you and you can cancel with a prorated refund for the remainder of that period.

While Plus isn't yet for sale, some Plus features may be open as a preview. A preview can be changed or closed at any time without notice.

6. Paying for Plus

  • Price and billing. Plus is billed once a year, in advance, at the price shown when you buy ($100 a year today). Prices are in U.S. dollars. Payments are processed by Stripe; we don't store your card details.
  • Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically each year at the price then in effect for your account. We'll email you at least 14 days before each renewal with the date and the amount. If you joined under a founding-price offer, your price stays as offered for as long as your subscription stays active.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel renewal at any time from the Account page or the billing portal. You keep Plus until the end of the period you've paid for, then your account moves to the free tier with your plan intact.
  • Refunds. Plus is non-refundable, except: a duplicate purchase; a billing error on our side; or a renewal charge you report within 7 days and haven't used Plus since. We don't prorate partial years. Outside these cases, refunds are at our discretion.
  • Price changes. We may change the price for future periods. We'll email you at least 30 days before a change affects you. Founding-price accounts are excluded as described above.
  • Taxes. Prices don't include sales tax or VAT where applicable; Stripe adds it at checkout when required.

7. Referrals and affiliates

If we run a referral program, credits are issued only for referred purchases that have been paid and not refunded, on the schedule and limits shown in the program terms. Credits have no cash value, can't be transferred, and can be reversed if the referred purchase is refunded or disputed. Self-referrals, referrals within your own household, and automated or fraudulent referrals earn nothing and may result in account closure.

Affiliates are governed by a separate affiliate agreement.

8. Acceptable use

Use MangoDime for your own household's planning. Don't: use it to provide advice to clients or the public without a separate agreement with us; copy, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service or its simulations; probe or disrupt it; enter data about people who haven't agreed to it; or use another person's account. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

9. Ask MangoDime (AI features)

If your tier includes AI features, they explain your own plan and run comparisons on it. They can be wrong. They don't give advice, and their answers are subject to everything in section 1. Usage is limited per tier — 3 questions a day on the free tier, 30 a month on Plus — and we may throttle or pause AI features to control abuse or cost. Your conversations are stored with your account and deleted with it, and are not used to train public models.

10. Our content

The site, the software, the simulations, and our written content belong to us or our licensors. You may use them as part of using the service and share your own results. You may not resell or republish our content. Articles on the site are general information, not advice.

11. Availability and changes

We work to keep MangoDime available and accurate, and we'll fix errors we find, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue Plus entirely, we'll refund the unused portion of any period you've paid for.

12. Disclaimers

MangoDime is provided “as is.” To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including about accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. You use the results at your own risk, and you're responsible for decisions you make.

13. Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, Northstar Digital LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, savings, or data, arising from your use of MangoDime. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

14. Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Before starting any legal claim, email us and give us 30 days to sort it out. Any claim that can't be resolved will be brought in the state or federal courts in Orange County, California, and each of us agrees to that venue.

15. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email account holders and update the date at the top at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use MangoDime after that is agreement to the new terms.
