Referral terms

These terms cover the MangoDime referral program, run by Northstar Digital LLC. They add to our Terms, which still apply. If the two disagree about the referral program, these terms govern.
1. What the program is
Anyone with a MangoDime account, free or Plus, has a personal link. When a new customer arrives through your link and pays for their first year of Plus, they get $20 off that first year and you get a $25 credit toward a Plus renewal.
2. Who counts as a referred customer
- They open your link and create a new MangoDime account within 30 days.
- They have never had a Plus subscription before.
- If they open more than one referral link, the last one they opened gets the credit.
- You cannot refer yourself, and a credit is not given for someone in your own household, including anyone paying with the same card or from the same billing address.
3. The friend's discount
The $20 comes off the first year only. Renewals are at the price in force at the time, currently $100 a year. The discount cannot be combined with another discount; if two would apply, the one that gives the lower price is used.
4. Your credit
- A credit is pending for 30 days after your friend's payment and is then issued to your account.
- If your friend's payment is refunded during those 30 days, the credit is canceled and is not issued.
- If your friend's payment is disputed with their card issuer at any time, the credit is reversed. If it has already been used, the amount is added to your next charge.
- Once a credit is issued, it comes off your next Plus charge automatically: your next renewal, or your first year if you are on the free plan.
- A single charge is reduced by at most its own amount. Credit beyond that stays on your account for the following renewal.
- Credit that has not been used 12 months after it could first have been applied expires.
- Credit has no cash value. It cannot be paid out, transferred, or refunded, and it ends if you delete your account.
5. Checks and holds
We may hold a credit while we check a payment, and we may decline to issue one that does not meet these terms. A hold never affects your friend's discount or their subscription.
6. Sharing your link
Send your link to people you know. Do not send it in bulk to people who have not asked to hear from you, post it on coupon or deal sites, or buy advertising that uses the MangoDime name. Describe MangoDime as what it is: planning software that does not give investment, tax, or legal advice.
7. Changes and ending the program
We may change or end the program. A credit already pending or issued when we do is still honored under the terms in force when your friend paid. We may remove an account from the program, and cancel its unissued credits, if it breaks these terms. Credits already issued are not affected.
8. Taxes
A credit is a reduction in the price you pay us, not a payment to you. You are responsible for any tax that applies to you.
9. Publishers
If you write or publish for an audience and would send more than a few readers, the affiliate program is the right one, and it has terms of its own.
