This page says what we collect, what we do with it, and what we don't — in plain language. It's for adults; MangoDime isn't for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
If you don't create an account
The estimator and the guided plan run in your browser. What you type is kept in your browser's local storage so it's there if you come back — it isn't sent to our servers, and it's gone when you clear your browser or save it to an account. We record that an estimate was shown (and where you came from), never the numbers.
If you create an account
We store your email address and the figures you enter about your finances — savings, income, spending, and similar — so we can calculate your results and show them next time. That's personal information about you, and we treat it that way — see how below. If you enter names (yours or family members'), we store those too; they're optional and only used to label your plan. If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address and we store that.
We keep a history of your plan's results and quarter-end balances so we can show progress over time.
If you write to us
If you send a message through the Contact page or by email, we keep your email address and what you wrote, so we can answer and keep track of what was asked. If you were signed in when you sent it, deleting your account deletes that message too.
What we don't do
We don't sell or share your information for advertising. We don't link bank accounts or pull financial data — every number is one you typed. We don't show ads.
Who else handles your data
A small number of outside services run parts of MangoDime. Each is bound by its own privacy terms and may use your data only to provide its service to us. What each kind sees:
- Hosting and the database — where your account and your plan are stored.
- Email delivery — your sign-in link and the emails described above. One of them quotes two of your own figures back to you, so those pass through in transit along with your address. Your plan itself never does.
- Error reporting — so we can fix crashes. Session replay is turned off, and so is the collection of raw request data, so what you type doesn't reach a bug report.
- Page analytics — which pages are visited. No financial figures.
- Payments — our payment processor collects your card details directly. We never see or store them.
- Google — only if you choose Google sign-in. The sign-in page loads Google's sign-in button, which Google may use to recognize a Google account you're already signed in to in that browser.
If we add anything that sees more than the above, we'll say so here first.
Who can see your plan
Your plan is tied to your account and walled off at the database level: every request is checked against your account, so the database won't return another user's data even if our app made a mistake. Nobody at MangoDime looks at individual plans except to fix a problem you've asked us about.
How we protect it
- No password to steal: sign-in is a one-time email link or Google.
- Encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.
- We only hold what you type — no bank credentials exist for us to protect.

Cookies
One cookie keeps you signed in. Local storage holds your guest plan. One cookie remembers a referral link for 30 days (90 for affiliate links) so the discount applies at checkout. One cookie remembers how you first found MangoDime, for 30 days, so we can tell which articles and links bring people here. It's stored with us and never shared. We don't use advertising cookies.
Your sign-in link, which you can't turn off — it's how you get in. One email the first time you save a plan, telling you where you stand. And one email when Plus launches, if you asked for it. Both of those last two carry a one-click unsubscribe, and you can switch them off any time on your Profile page. We also send notices about your own plan: reminders about deadlines that apply to you, such as Medicare enrollment or December 31, a monthly report when something in your plan has gone out of date, and notice before any subscription charge. Those are about your account rather than marketing, so notice of a charge reaches you even if you have unsubscribed from everything else.
We use your plan to decide which reminders to send you — for example, when you're approaching an age that changes your options. That decision happens here, on our own database; your figures are never sent anywhere to make it.
Your data, your call
- Delete: any time from the Account page. It removes your plan, results, and history from our live database immediately; copies in our backups expire within 10 days. Or email us and we'll do it.
- Copy or correct: email us and we'll send you what we hold or fix it.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we'll email account holders and update the date above.
