Planning as a couple

Choose "married filing jointly" and the plan models both of you — each with your own Social Security figure, claiming age and required distributions.
Filing status unlocks the spouse fields. Set it in Household, and the rest of the plan starts asking for a second set of answers where it needs them.
Retirement timing is per person. Withdrawals begin once both working spouses have retired — a spouse you have marked as having no income doesn't hold that date back.
The survivor view lives in Compare. It shows what the surviving spouse's paycheck looks like, and where term life and a pension's survivor percentage change it.
Two limits. We don't model true spousal Social Security benefits — we calculate each spouse's benefit independently. And we simplify the survivor's benefit to a step-up to the higher of the two, which is not the real rule.
