What Ask MangoDime can and can't do

Ask MangoDime answers questions about your own plan, using numbers from it. It compares and ranks; it does not tell you what to do. It is part of Plus, in beta, and is not built yet.
Not built yet. This page describes what it will and will not do, so the boundary is written down before the feature exists rather than after.
**What it can do.** Answer questions about your plan: your paycheck, your gap, your chance of success, any account or setting you have entered. Every number in an answer comes from your plan or from a comparison it ran, and each answer shows where its numbers came from. Explain how MangoDime calculates things, from the simulations to how taxes are estimated. Run comparisons and what-ifs: "What if I retire at 60?" runs your plan at 60 and shows the difference. Propose changes to your plan from plain language, which you review before anything is saved.
**What it cannot do.** See anyone else's plan. It reads yours, and on a household plan your partner's, and nothing else.
Name funds, stocks, tickers or products, or tell you where to invest. It can show how your stock and bond mix changes your chance of success; it will not suggest a mix.
Give tax or legal instructions. It can show what your plan models and what each strategy produces. The decision is yours, and for it you want a professional who knows your situation.
Make up a number. If it cannot get a figure from your plan or from a comparison, it says so rather than estimating.
Tell you what to do. "Should I..." gets the ranking, the reason the ranking comes out that way, and the tool that produced it. Not a yes or a no.
**Why.** MangoDime is planning software, not an adviser. The assistant is an easier way to ask the software questions; it is not a different kind of answer.
**Limits.** Plus includes 30 questions a month per household, and the free plan includes 3 a day. The count is shown under the box. During beta these limits may change. Conversations are saved with your account, deleted when you delete it, and never used to train models.
